This year’s efforts have provided more than 500 pieces of fitness equipment to first responder organizations, with additional donations taking place across 15 markets in recognition of National First Responders Day
HAMPTON, N.H., Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Planet Fitness, one of the largest and fastest-growing fitness center operators with more members than any other fitness brand, today highlighted the impact of its ongoing efforts to support first responders. Throughout 2026, clubs and franchisees across the country have donated fitness equipment to local fire departments, police departments, EMS organizations, and other public safety agencies.
This year, Planet Fitness clubs and franchisees have donated more than 500 pieces of commercial-grade fitness equipment to more than 50 first responder organizations across more than 10 states. Donations have included cardio, strength, and functional training equipment to help local first responders meet their wellness goals.
In recognition of National First Responders Day on October 28, Planet Fitness clubs and franchisees across 15 markets are building on this year’s efforts with additional equipment donations to local first responder organizations, honoring the people who keep their communities safe every day.
“First responders dedicate their lives to protecting and serving others, often under the most demanding circumstances, and we’re proud to support them with equipment that can help them stay active and ready for the work they do every day,” said McCall Gosselin, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Planet Fitness. “Planet Fitness has always been committed to making fitness accessible and welcoming for everyone through our Judgement Free Zone®, and that commitment extends beyond our club walls to the communities we serve. We’re grateful for the opportunity to give back to the people who give so much in service to others.”
Planet Fitness clubs and franchisees work directly with local departments to identify equipment that can best support their needs. By extending the life of commercial-grade fitness equipment, these donations help first responder organizations enhance their existing fitness spaces or create new ones while making a meaningful local impact.
