Clip Strengthens Its Software Solutions with the Acquisition of Pulpos and Appoints Debra Chrapaty to Its Board of Directors

  • Clip acquired Pulpos, a cloud-based management software powered by AI, to help more businesses in Mexico integrate their operations, streamline administration, and make better business decisions.
  • Debra Chrapaty’s appointment to the Board of Directors expands Clip’s capabilities and brings global experience in technology, infrastructure and software solutions to the company’s strategic vision.

MEXICO CITY, Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Clip, Mexico’s premier financial ecosystem, today announced two moves that strengthen the capabilities behind its next stage of growth. The company has acquired Pulpos, a cloud-based business management system, and has appointed Debra Chrapaty to its Board of Directors.

Both moves reflect Clip’s evolution and its long-term vision. After making digital payments more accessible for millions of businesses in Mexico, the company is broadening its value proposition to offer the tools they need not only to get paid, but also to operate, manage and grow.

The acquisition of Pulpos, which was founded in 2023 by Franco Silveti, Lucas Cortés and Frank Martin, adds business management tools to Clip’s payment solutions, including point of sale, inventory, electronic invoicing, supplier purchasing and artificial intelligence agents. The progressive integration of these software capabilities with Clip’s existing payment capabilities is intended to connect processes that often run separately today and give merchants a simpler, more complete experience for managing their businesses.

“Small and medium-sized businesses are the engine of Mexico’s economy, and they deserve technology that helps them make better decisions and grow. Pulpos was born to give merchants greater control and visibility over their businesses. Becoming part of Clip will allow us to take that mission to a much larger scale and build an experience where getting paid and running the business are part of the same system,” said Frank Martin, Co-Founder of Pulpos.

As the integration moves forward, any sale will be able to automatically update inventory, generate the information needed for invoicing and record the transaction. This will reduce manual work and give merchants greater visibility into their sales and operations to make better decisions.

This expansion of the platform is joined by the appointment of Debra Chrapaty to Clip’s Board of Directors. Over the course of her career, Chrapaty has held technology leadership roles at global companies including Wells Fargo, Amazon and Microsoft; most recently serving as CTO of Toast. Her experience in large-scale technology, infrastructure, cloud, operations and financial services brings capabilities that are especially relevant for Clip at a time when the company is expanding the complexity and reach of its technology platform.

“The acquisition of Pulpos and the addition of Debra represent two complementary dimensions of the company we are building. On one hand, we are expanding the tools we put in the hands of businesses so they can get paid, manage and grow. On the other hand, we are bringing in world-class experience to guide the strategic and technology decisions that will allow us to take this vision to an ever larger scale”, said Adolfo Babatz, founder and CEO of Clip.

“Throughout my career I have seen how well-built technology redefines entire industries. Clip is creating something bigger than a payments platform: an ecosystem where businesses grow and people find real value in the digital economy. I am joining the Board to work with this great team on accelerating product innovation and scaling secure technology that brings financial inclusion to every corner of Mexico,” said Debra Chrapaty, the newest member of Clip’s Board of Directors.

These announcements are part of a broader strategy to expand Clip’s capabilities beyond payment acceptance and build an increasingly complete platform for businesses in Mexico. This evolution is aligned with Mexico’s digital payments agenda, including the proposed Digital Economy and Digital Payments Law, as well as Plan México’s focus on strengthening small businesses. In June, Clip also announced the launch of Mi Clip, a digital wallet ecosystem, by partnering with Ant International, Mastercard and Televisa-Univision.

Pulpos will continue to operate under its own brand and with its own team. Merchants currently using either company’s services will keep their accounts and terms unchanged. New capabilities will be rolled out progressively as the integration advances.

With these moves, Clip continues to evolve from a company that made digital payments more accessible into a technology ecosystem that brings together the tools businesses need to operate and grow.
