WASHINGTON DC, DC, UNITED STATES, November 4, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Colloquia Art announces its 2027 Exhibition Program, bringing together thirteen artists across twelve months at its gallery on North Main Street. As Colloquia marks its first anniversary this November, the Program continues the gallery’s work connecting artists and audiences through contemporary art and international cultural exchange.
The year begins with Anne Thrift’s Frisson in January, a series of figurative paintings exploring the chills music can provoke and the memories those sensations carry. Lenny Lea’s A Gathering Within follows in February, drawing on her connection to Aruba to consider belonging as an inner experience. Dennis Wymer’s Beyond All Of It, in March, examines how memory, emotion, and self-perception shape what we believe we experience.
April brings Fidelis Izekor’s A Beauteous Introspection, exploring African diasporic identity through imagined worlds and West African patterning. Anthony Tremmaglia’s Departed Untold follows in May, using mineral matter and geological materials to explore absence, memory, and what passes unnoticed. In June, Jean Hess presents Field Notes, bringing personal memory into contact with Appalachian histories of labor and place through layered mixed-media works.
Briena Harmening’s Come On In, in July, creates a Southern domestic interior from textiles and soft sculpture. Inviting furnishings resist their familiar functions, while text-based works expose tensions between hospitality, politeness, and exclusion.
August features Colloquia Futures, supporting artists at the beginning of sustained professional practice through an annual exhibition, curatorial dialogue, professional presentation, and public engagement. Camilla Fasolino presents While We Are Here, mixed-media paintings developed through shared life in Tokyo. Hayes Conradi Koppelman presents In the Wind I Once Knew, combining poetry, digital illustration, photographed textures, and hand-worked surfaces to examine intimacy and the difficulty of being understood.
In September, Yurie Kawagoe’s What Lives Within gives form to emotional experience through assemblages of imaginary insects. Reiner Heidorn’s Maidenhair follows in October, developing from a planned Colloquia residency and engagement with the Shenandoah landscape. November brings Woodstock artist Sally Veach’s A Survey of Works, surveying ten years of painting and drawing in the Shenandoah Valley and Alexandria, Virginia. David Underwood closes the year in December with Made In Appalachia (And Beyond), combining original photographs, text, painting, drawing, and collage.
